Error to install Pandora in Ubuntu 18.04 - Printable Version

Error to install Pandora in Ubuntu 18.04 - joserodriguezan - 01-28-2019

Hello everyone,

I have been trying to install Pandora FMS server into Ubuntu Desktop 18.04 several times in the same virtual machine. 

I have been followed several installation procedures, one of them is from this site

I always recieved the same error, I found several troubleshootings but with the same results.
This is the error informatión I attached an screenshot. 


CREATING DATABASE AND DEFAULT CONFIGURATION FILE

Connection with Database

Creating database 'pandora'
[Image: dot_green.png]
Opening database 'pandora'
[Image: dot_green.png]
Creating schema
[Image: dot_green.png]
Populating database
[Image: dot_red.png]
Established privileges for user pandora. A new random password has been generated: peuymubf
Please write it down, you will need to setup your Pandora FMS server, editing the /etc/pandora/pandora_server.conf file

Write permissions to save config file in './include'
[Image: dot_green.png]
Created new config file at 'include/config.php'

There were some problems. Installation was not completed.
Please correct failures before trying again. All database schemes created in this step have been dropped.

Good morning joserodriguezan,

The error may be because you have the plugin of MySQL thats need to validate the password create por user pandora.

Please, do this step in MySQL and try again the installation:

1- UNINSTALL PLUGIN validate_password;

Please tell us if this helped you in the install.

Hi,

i have the same problem.
i had also other red dots solved with sql_mode=NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION, but now i have the red dot on password change step, as reported in the post above.
trying to remove the mysql plugin report this error:

mysql> UNINSTALL PLUGIN validate_password;
ERROR 1305 (42000): PLUGIN validate_password does not exist

Good morning maxfranco,

That error is caused because the aleatory password that Pandora creates does not fill the policy password of your mysql.

What version of MySQL have you installed?
