Monitoring and alerting when high CPU and send a report that list top consumers
#1
Hi, I am trying to find a way to configure Pandora to do the following Windows server monitoring:

*Our environment is Windows only. The server is installed on a Windows Server.

When CPU goes over x% for more than x seconds, send a report/alert listing the top x processes at the time of the incident.

When Memory goes over x% for more than x seconds , send a report/alert listing the top x processes at the time of the incident.
Also is it possible to generate reports and send them periodically and (more specifically) only send new incidents in subsequent emails. Example: "Since last report: The following happened...".

Lastly does Pandora have the ability to scoop up, say, .log files and parse the content to be used for reporting?

Thanks!

Hi Senri.

For your monitoring you'll need to establish the warning or critical threshold in your modules and assing them an alert. The alerts are the combination of module+template+action+command so you'll need to create a command to do what you want (list the top X processes), an action that uses this command and a template with the trigger condition desired. Read this section of the wiki to understand this point.

About monitoring log files, you can do it with Pandora. Just check this section of the wiki to know how.

Kind regards,
Enrique.
